Our most luxurious room, the Spa Suite, features a king bed with luxurious pillows and an eiderdown duvet, sitting area, massage room, ensuite double shower, steam bath, sauna, and an in-ground California-style therapeutic hot tub. You will be able to plan your breakfast menu to your foodie heart's content, and get settled in your room where you have a really good bed with cozy duvet and quality linens, ensuite bathroom, terry robes and slippers, and all the essential and pleasing amenities, including AVEDA Aromatherapy toiletries.

Once settled you can set off on a taste exploration tour. Stroll down the street to Elements Restaurant where you can sample their wonderful tapas menu with a wide choice of wine by the glass. Then its two blocks to walk to the Sapphire Room for a martini, from a list of 200, and several small dishes to enjoy. From there, around the corner is Hot Belly Mamas, creole food!. We suggest sharing a catfish dish or enjoying a bowl of gumbo or corn chowder, with a Southern bourbon perhaps. Finally a few steps up to Kubo Lounge where you can relax and savour the atmosphere, music and a nightcap with a final course. They have an extensive menu, a very long bar, and excellent service. The walk home is four blocks, and if you are so inclined perhaps a local beer with Nasi Goreng or spicy shrimp or even a good burger at the Olde Stone Brewery to end the evening. Arrive downtown and stay 2 nights at King Bethune House, Guest House & Spa, in one of the spacious private rooms, either the King Bethune Room with king bed, 4 windows and ensuite shower in the bathroom, or the Queen Bethune Room with the large bathroom with soaker tub. This will allow you a full day for the Food Tour. Begin right after your breakfast - your menu of fresh local foods, with great coffee or a tea from the bountiful tea cupboard.

Drive about 10 minutes to Peterborough Buffalo Farm, the oldest wild bison farm in North America, where you will be taken into the pasture where the buffalo roam for a closeup view of these magnificent powerful wild animals. While at he farm you can make an order for bison meat, the healthiest red meat. It's lean, very healthy, free of antibiotics and hormones, and very high in iron. And it is delicious. Your order will be delivered to King Bethune House for you.

Onward to the artisan cheese source for a cheese tasting and a great educational opportunity from a knowledgeable aficiando from Chasing The Cheese. Relax for a couple of hours then enjoy a dinner of local foods including the bison and cheese, prepared by a local chef and served in a casual but classy way at the guest house. Bring your own wine and enjoy a local produce feast. Complete your evening by the fire in the courtyard garden or by walking through the downtown in search of live music -- you won't have to look far.
