We are located in the heart of Curve Lake Indian Reserve in the beautiful central Ontario Kawartha (Shining Waters) lakelands, only two hours north east of Toronto, Canada. Whetung Ojibwa Centre offers a spectacular collection of Indian crafts as well as fine art, sculpture, masks, leather work, clothing, jewelry, music, and books from across Canada and right here at home. It is possible to spend literally hours browsing through these rooms. The Centre is open year round and offers free parking, wheelchair access and picnic area. Our Summer Tea Room, open from May to Thanksgiving 9-5, serves traditional Indian food and also the more novel "pow wow" fare, the best in the area. We look forward to meeting you in person at Whetung Ojibwa Centre! Gallery Hours: 9am to 5pm 7 days a week Whetung Ojibwa Centre is located 160 kilometres northeast of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is easily accessible from east or west via Highways 401 or 7. From Peterborough, take Water Street North to Buckhorn Road to Curve Lake Road. In 1987, Anne and Dave started Titles as a children‚s speciality book store with all the spectacular art work and creativity that those books offer. In recent years, an extensive collection of adult literature has been added. The passion, the creativity and the love of language is still a major focus for our store, be it adult books, children‚s books or presentation books. We are proud of our "local" section promoting the wealth of talented authors and artists in this area. Beyond books, we have a unique offering of greeting cards, local post cards, calendars, puzzles and logic games and a broad selection of teacher‚s resource materials. ZimArt’s Rice Lake Gallery This outdoor gallery, 20 minutes south of Peterborough, has an exceptional collection of hand carved Shona stone sculpture from Zimbabwe, in all sizes from miniature to monumental. Curator Fran Fearnley represents over 50 Zimbabwean artists. Rice Lake Gallery is open year round by appointment. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic and relax and explore this exceptional, indigenous art work in a stunning natural setting.
